REScheck
What is a Resccheck Report?
Energy By Design uses Rescheck to provide builders and homeowners with documentation needed during the permitting process. Rescheck reports include the compliance certificate, inspection checklist, panel certificate and the mandatory requirements to comply with the energy code.
Nationwide
Where can Rescheck be used?
The purpose of a Rescheck report is to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the International Energy Code. Rescheck is a software program that was created by the Department of Energy and can be used to show compliance to the 2009, 2012, and 2015 editions of the IECC, including Florida 2017, Georgia 2011 and North Carolina.
Energy Code Compliance
What Systems are evaluated?
A Rescheck report will evaluate the envelope assembly of your proposed building and is used to demonstrate compliance based on code trade-off rules. Rescheck evaluates the ceilings, walls, windows floors, and doors, producing a numerical comparison of your proposed home with a "built to code" reference home.
Flexibility
What are building material "trade-offs"?
The advantage of using Rescheck is the ability to perform building material "trade-offs". For example, if you wanted to build a home with a cathedral ceiling that doesn't have room for the insulation level required in the code, that insulation can be traded with a higher R-value insulation in the walls or with a higher quality window. Rescheck allows for flexibility in the building envelope giving you more freedom to design the home you want to build.
